The reader app touches payment SMS. Here is exactly what we read, why, and how long we keep it.
What the reader app reads
Only messages from known mobile-financial-service shortcodes. The app filters by sender
before parsing and never touches your personal messages.
Messages are parsed on the device. We send only what matching needs:
amount, transaction id, sender, timestamp and method.
Raw message bodies are not sent to our servers unless a reference rule genuinely needs one;
when they are, they are encrypted at rest and kept briefly.
What we never do
We never forward your payment data to third-party chat services (Discord, Telegram, etc.).
We never hold, route, or settle your money — it goes straight to your own account.
We never store card numbers, CVV, or expiry. The platform routes through MFS and bank transfer only.
Retention
Payment-event raw bodies: 90 days, then scrubbed.
Pre-captured stored data: 30 days.
Audit records: 7 years.
